MY STORY
2021 was a rough year, to say the least. I was working full time in education, single mom’ing it was still relatively new for me, and financially I was feeling really stressed out. I was doing my best at the time to balance work, kids, after school sports practices, weekend basketball tournaments, and keep up with all the bills and responsibilities. I reached a point where I decided that I needed to take on a side hustle in order to maintain the lifestyle that I wanted my family to experience. I told myself that my side hustle had to be something that I was passionate about, was relatively flexible, brought me joy, and would help relieve some of the financial pressures that I was experiencing. Immediately, fitness training came to mind. I have always been an athlete. I played various sports growing up, during high school, and even went on to play at a college level. Working out has always brought me so much joy. Not only has working out brought me joy, but it also saved me from falling into a deep depression during a rough time in my life. The physical AND emotional gains that I get each and every time I workout has had such a positive impact on my life. As cheesy as it may sound, it’s my truth. Working out not only keeps me fit and healthy, but it increases my self-confidence, keeps me accountable, brings discipline and routine into my life, and honestly makes me a better woman. Deciding to study for the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certification of Personal Trainers has been one of the best decisions I have ever made, not only for myself, but for my family. I want to help others get fit, reach their physical goals, dust off their inner athlete, and PUT IN WORK! Watching my clients crush their fitness goals and increase their physical strength brings me joy. But seeing the overall confidence and self-love grow within my clients as their fitness levels improve is my true “WHY” and the reason that Hella Hustle will continue to receive my love and dedication.
